What I Should Do if I Cannot Locate My Immunization Records
Start by asking your primary healthcare provider if they can locate your immunization record in the state MIIS database. The MIIS should have immunization records going back at least 10 years for most Massachusetts residents.
Tetanus and Diphtheria
If you do not have documentation proving that you have been vaccinated against tetanus and diphtheria you will have to be re-immunized.
Measles, Mumps & Rubella
If you are sure that you have been vaccinated against the measles, mumps, and rubella you can have titers drawn. A sample of your blood will be tested to determine the status of your immunity. For additional information on what a titer is, visit the
titer informational page from George Mason University.
