[ARCHIVED] Announcement - Assistant Town Manager appointment

Town Manager Kerry Lafleur is pleased to announce the appointment of Jessica Porter to the position of Assistant Town Manager for the Town of Concord.

The Assistant Town Manager position has several human service-related departments under its umbrella including Human Resources, Recreation, Senior Services, Veterans’ Services, Risk Management, and Community Services.  

Ms. Porter brings fifteen years of municipal experience in human resources and administration to the position, including as the Human Resources Director for the towns of Andover and Belmont, where she served as department head for all human resource functions, including collective bargaining, benefits programs, and recruiting.  She was also the Assistant Town Manager for the Town of Bedford where she managed, among other duties, all affordable housing related activities.    

“The Town of Concord is fortunate to have someone with Jessica’s breadth of experience in this position,” said Town Manager Kerry Lafleur, “She is well prepared to take on the Assistant Town Manager portfolio.  I look forward to working with her.”                                                                

Ms. Porter holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from Suffolk University.  She is a Massachusetts Certified Public Purchasing Official (MCPPO),  a member of the Massachusetts Municipal Human Resources Association (MMHRA),  and the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) .   She is also the current chair of the Town of Chelmsford Personnel Board.

Ms. Porter is expected to start in the position on Monday, Dec. 4, 2023.  Her office will be located at 55 Church St., Concord, MA.
