CPW’s paving contractor, Lazaro Paving will be starting preparation work for the milling and paving operations of Main Street, between Sudbury Rd and Monument Square as well as adjoining portions of Monument Square and Walden St on Sunday night September 15th and continuing until complete. This section of Main Street is the last section to be completed this construction season. To alleviate traffic congestion during high volume hours and to reduce impact to abutting businesses, the work is scheduled to be conducted at night between the hours of 8:00 pm and 5:00 am.
This work is scheduled to take approximately 2 weeks to complete depending on the weather.
The reconstruction work will be conducted in two stages, pavement milling of the existing roadway surface and then paving 2 layers of hot mix asphalt to restore the surface.
One-way West bound traffic will be maintained during the paving operation through the construction zone. Other directions of traffic will be detoured around the work zone.
On-street parking will be prohibited during the hours of 8:00 pm and 5:00 am during the construction work. The paving contractor will be posting “No Parking” signs indicating the “no parking” restriction.
Heavy equipment will be present and operational. Access to all properties will be maintained, however, please expect delays near construction crews performing the work.
