[ARCHIVED] Grant Award: CFD Receives Fire Training Funds

CFD Secures Grant from Leary Firefighters Foundation to Fund Fire Training

The Concord Fire Department is pleased to announce it has been awarded a grant from the Leary Firefighters Foundation to support essential live fire training for all department members.

This significant grant, totaling just under $21,000, will cover the majority—approximately two-thirds—of the costs associated with this critical training program. The remaining expenses will be funded through the Department's existing budget, as the grant makes the full cost coverage possible.

Live fire exercises are an essential component of a firefighter's professional development. This hands-on training allows department members to:

  • Keep their life-saving skills sharp.
  • Maintain a high level of operational readiness.
  • Ensure the department can respond effectively and safely to the needs of the community.

"This training would not be possible without the generous support of the Leary Firefighters Foundation," said Fire Chief Brian Whitney. "We are incredibly grateful for their unwavering commitment to firefighter safety and preparedness. We look forward to providing our members with this invaluable opportunity to hone their skills."

The Concord Fire Department extends special thanks to:

  • Lieutenant Todd Nemi, who spearheaded and successfully executed the grant application process.
  • The Worcester Fire Department, which will host the training at its dedicated live burn training facility.

The Concord Fire Department remains committed to providing the highest level of emergency service to the town and its residents through continued training and preparation.
