The 'Does it Work?' Mid-Winter Home Tour
January 31, 2026 - 1-3:30 PM
Participants in the ‘Does It Work?’ Mid-Winter Home Tour on January 31 will get an up-close look at the other 21st century home features such as induction stoves, electric vehicle chargers, heat pump water heaters and solar panels. They can get real answers about electric heating, cooling, and car travel from the homeowners opening their homes for tours. Concord Municipal Light Plant staff will be at each home with information about no-cost coaching services and financial incentives that help people make the switch to these modern appliances and cars.
Enjoy a cup of hot mulled cider and great conservations with neighbors! Get real answers to your questions about 21st century electric heating, cooling, cooking and car travel:
- Can a heat pump really keep a home warm throughout the winter?
- What’s it like to drive an EV on a long trip?
- How does cooking on an induction stove compare to gas?
- Is it worth getting solar panels?
You may leave with new friends. You’ll certainly leave with new insights, including a feel for the comfort of a heat pump-heated home in mid-winter.
