Concord Municipal Broadband Announces Scheduled Maintenance in Preparation for XGS‑PON Network Upgrade - February/March 2026
[Update: The 2/23/2026 maintenance window is postponed to 2/25/2026]
Concord Municipal Broadband is announcing a series of scheduled overnight maintenance windows as part of our transition to XGS‑PON, a next‑generation fiber‑optic broadband platform. This upgrade will significantly enhance network capacity, improve service reliability, and enable symmetric multi‑gigabit speeds for residential and business subscribers.
The scheduled maintenance will occur between the hours of midnight and 6:00 a.m. on:
- February 18, 2026
February 23, 2026 (Postponed due to weather)- February 25, 2026
- March 4, 2026
During these windows, most customers will experience a brief service interruption lasting approximately 15–30 minutes. While a full outage is possible, it is not anticipated. Targeted notifications will be issued to customers expected to be directly affected on each specific night.
Upgrading to XGS‑PON represents a major investment in the long‑term performance and resilience of Concord’s broadband infrastructure. This technology will allow us to offer symmetric multi‑gigabit speeds and support the growing digital needs of our community for years to come. The XGS‑PON upgrade is expected to be fully completed in early 2026, at which time new multi‑gigabit service tiers will become available. Additional information regarding any required customer‑side equipment updates will be provided as the rollout approaches.
No action is required from the customer, and services should resume automatically once maintenance is complete. If a customer experiences problems after 6am on a day when there is a maintenance window, please reboot your modem/router and contact our 24x7 support team at 978-318-3199.
