[ARCHIVED] Concord Awarded MVP Grant from State

On May 29th, the Town of Concord was awarded a $33,000 Climate Resiliency grant through the State’s Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) Program. Concord is one of 82 towns receiving more than $2 million total in grant funding for climate resiliency. The Town of Concord is fortunate to have been awarded funds to build upon the Town’s existing efforts toward climate change mitigation. The grant funding will allow Concord to identify the Town’s vulnerabilities to climate change through a Community Resilience Building Workshop.

Concord has already set ambitious climate goals for the Town and has established a Sustainability Division within the local Town government. With the assistance of the Town’s new Sustainability Director and project lead, Kate Hanley, a great many sustainability initiatives have already begun.

”Joining the MVP program demonstrates Concord’s commitment to addressing climate change. Thanks to this incredible resource provided by the Commonwealth, Concord will be able to take our leadership on climate and sustainability to the next level and I’m excited to work with the community on this program.” Kate Hanley said of the grant.
