Body / Bone Strength
Strength and Flexibility, offered each Monday and Thursday from 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. does not include a cardiovascular component, but focuses solely on increasing strength and flexibility, both upper and lower body, with some core exercises included. We use dumbbells, ankle weights, balls, and bands. Some exercises are performed standing and some sitting, but there is no floor work. Increasing or maintaining strength and flexibility have been proven to help seniors remain independent later into their lives. Weight-bearing exercises also help to maintain bone strength and prevent or slow the development of osteoporosis.
